Day 5 – Thursday 8th March

Thursday morning
It looks like another perfect sailing day. Bright sunshine. Wind is forecast as being 7 to 10 knots from the North, shifting to the NNE during the day. This will again mean shifty conditions with the wind coming from the direction of Key Biscayne. As always the big decision is left or right on the first beat. Right is suggested because of the predicted slow wind shift and also the influence of the sea breeze. But yesterday there were big lifts on the left, presumably caused by the influence of the Key. Also there is the current to worry about. Decisions, decisions!

I have been asked to show another photo of me as a crane operator. So here I am on Wednesday evening.

Sailing report is a bit short today. Will try to add something more during tomorrow. A great day's sailing. Perfect conditions. Bad start (again) but pulled through to the late 20's by the last mark, only to drop 5 or 6 places in the last 400 yards.

Mark Reynolds' mast broke. And someone tried to duck Roberto Bermudez of Spain and achieved a direct hit.
